According to a report, Tennesseans need to make $14.99 an hour in order to afford rent in the state.

According to the National Low Income Housing Colaition, an American household should be making at least $20.30 an hour to be able to afford a modest, two-bedroom apartment without spending more than a third of their income on rent. However, this average can change based on where you live.

Here’s what hourly household wages should look like in the southeastern United States in order for renters to afford rent for a two-bedroom unit without having to pay more than one-third of their income:

Alabama: $13.93
Mississippi: $14.07
Kentucky: $14.10
South Carolina: $14.84
Tennessee: $14.99
North Carolina: $15.32
Louisiana: $15.81
Georgia: $16.30
Florida: $19.96
