The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office announced the discovery of human remains near Anderson Road; according to the sheriff’s office, a tip led to the discovery March 4.

The remains were analyzed by a pathology team from the University of Tennessee, which determined the remains are of a Caucasian male, believed to have been there for at least five years.

The sheriff’s office conducted a search of the area, but has found no additional remains.

The investigation is ongoing.
