HUNDREDS ATTEND TRUNK OR TREAT EVENTS

If last night (Saturday, October 28, 2017) was an indication of how many will be out for Trunk or Treat events this Tuesday night (October 31, 2017), then it is going to be a very busy night. The weather yesterday had many event organizers concerned as rain fell but stopped just shy of the first events of the day taking place. Several trunk or treats were held in the listening area and many of them reported heavy turnouts.

At the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, the line of parents bringing their children stretched from the front doors of the courtroom entrance all the way past the jail entrance to Gridiron Lane. The line moved at a slow pace but the line held its length for the majority of the event. One inside, citizens were treated to spectacular displays of themes ranging from Disney, The Little Mermaid, Star Wars, Duck Dynasty, pirates, and many others. Court and law enforcement members and their families passed out candy to all that attended. Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox greeted all who attended at the entrance. Hundreds of people came out to the sheriff’s department for their trunk or treat this year.

At the Old Fashion Independant Baptist Church on 10th Street in Crossville, a steady and heavy at times crowd attended. The church also had theme booths for ones including Jurrasic Park, Moana, and others. Pastor Gary Howard said the church offered the event to the public as a safe alternative to trick or treating this year.

Several trunk or treat events will be held Halloween night. For a list of those events, search and follow 1057 News on Facebook and the events are pinned to the top of the page. 105.7 The Hog will be broadcasting live from the Rocky Top 10 theater in Crossville Halloween night from 5 to 7 pm central. At 7 pm, the theater will hold a free showing of the movie “Casper” for all.
