District Attorney General Russell Johnson released more information today regarding a shooting that took place yesterday (Wednesday, May 31, 2017) in Morgan County. Johnson said Jeff Moore is accused of allegedly shooting 38-year-old Anthony Padgett in the torso at Global Metals just outside the Oliver Springs city limits on Knoxville Highway. Padgett was flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville where he was listed in stable condition. Johnson did not state if there were any charges at this time but did say that the case will be presented to the Morgan County grand jury when they meet next. Investigators indicated that this may have been a domestic dispute in nature.
