A new alternate Tennessee license plate with the phrase “In God We Trust” is now available for purchase at your local County Clerk’s office. Sparta Rep. Paul Bailey sponsored the bill to make the plates an alternative to the standard plates, which are still available. According to officials, you do not have to pay a specialty-tag fee in order to buy them. And you don’t have to wait until your plates come up for renewal. You can swap your present license tag out for the new tag for an extra $2 one-time charge. Several alternate license plates are still available.
