INJURIES REPORTED AFTER JEEP CRASHES INTO LARGE TRAILER ON WEBB AVENUE

Crossville police and medics went to the scene of a vehicle accident earlier this week at the corner of East Stanley Street and Webb Avenue. The report released late yesterday indicates a 2018 Jeep Renegade driven by 68-year-old Roger D. Smith of Crossville was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Stanley Street and did not stop at the intersection. The automobile hit the curb, went airborne and struck a parked semi-trailer next to Hilltoppers Thrift Store. Neither occupant was restrained and Smith’s head collided with the windshield. Officers say multiple open alcoholic beverages were found in the automobile. Smith was flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. A passenger, 69-year-old Carlos M. Rosario of Crossville, was taken to Cumberland Medical Center.
