What was once a beautiful hotel built in Crossville to attract tourist near the Cumberland County Playhouse has now been cleared for demolition. A chancery court has approved tearing down The Inn of the Cumberlands on Sparta Highway. Bids will go out soon from the city for the work. The building eventually became home to several individuals and became a regular stop for Crossville police on calls. The inn was shut down in June 2015 after several structural violations were found.
