IVEY FROM CROSSVILLE ENTERS GUILTY PLEA STEMMING FROM U.S CAPITOL DEMONSTRATION

(BREAKING NEWS) – Court officials say 28-year-old Bryan Wayne Ivey of Crossville entered a guilty plea during a virtual hearing in Washington, D.C. district court this morning to illegally demonstrating in the U.S. Capitol back on January 6, 2021. Ivey’s punishment will be decided by Judge Christopher Cooper on September 28, 2021.

“Did you knowingly enter the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, knowing that it was impermissible for you to do so?” Cooper asked Ivey before accepting his guilty plea. “Yes, your honor,” Ivey replied.

He faces up to six months in jail. Ivey also agreed to pay $500 towards repairing damages to the Capitol, which has become the standard fine for rioters pleading to misdemeanors.

Prosecutors say Ivey entered the U.S. Capitol building through a window that was smashed and spent about 30 minutes inside, mostly in the rotunda section.
