JACKSON ARRESTED FOR RECKLESS BURNING IN CROSSVILLE

Crossville police and firefighters responded this week to a home on Hayes Drive after 25-year-old Benjamin J. Jackson allegedly attempted to set on fire a pile of leaves up against the outside wall of the residence.
The arrest report states Jackson told police he was mad at the occupants of the dwelling because they owed him a lot of money.
A witness in the home told officers he saw Jackson attempting to set the leaves ablaze.
Firefighters put the blaze out in the leaf pile before it erupted to involve the residence.
Jackson reportedly told authorities he was trying to get the residents to come out and talk to him. He thought the smoke would accomplish it.
The sheriff’s office says Jackson was processed at the jail for reckless burning and two counts of reckless endangerment.
