JAMESTOWN OFFICIALS ANNOUNCE 3-PHASE PROJECT TO UPGRADE AIRPORT
Jamestown officials are seeking to upgrade the city’s airport facility. Mayor Lyndon Baines is preparing a 3-phase project, assisted by TDOT and the FAA that will include improvements to the runway and the north taxiway. The first phase includes the inclusion of a $280,000 grant for planning, with phase 2 including a $3 million grant from the FAA that would be 100 percent, meaning the city would not be required to match. The improvements will be made as an economical move to entice new businesses into the area.
