Army Staff Sgt. (retired) John Vernon Rowe Jr., age 46, went home to be with the Lord tragically and unexpectedly May 18th, 2017 following a vehicle accident in Cumberland County, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father: John Vernon Rowe Sr.; brothers: Edward Wells and Carl Swiger; and baby boy rowe and two baby girls rowe. He is survived by his loving wife: Laryssa Rowe; children: John Wood, Trevor, Katlyn, Autumn, Anthony (Rowe-Rowe), Charlie (Bucket), James Clyde (Shrimp) and Rose Rowe; older children: Marty Rowe, Johnathan Michael, Carlton and Dallas; mother: Marlene Wells; also surviving are host of other family too many to name. John joined the army at age 18, moving up the ranks and becoming an army ranger, field medic and combat instructor to name a few, sacrificing it all by serving in Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Iraqi Endurance and most recently Afghanistan where injuries ended his career in the military. He then went into the fire service where he served with the Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department and was currently with the Deer Lodge Volunteer Fire Department where he was the former assistant chief. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 6 pm. Burial will be Monday, May 22, 2017 in the Lane Cemetery in Dover, Arkansas. Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg is in charge of arrangements.
