A local man was taken into custody on September 12, 2026, following a foot chase through a wooded area off Critter Crossing.

Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence at Critter Crossing around 10:31 AM to conduct a welfare check on an individual. Law enforcement had information indicating the individual might be with 36-year-old Joseph David Sadula, who had an active felony warrant for a Circuit Court violation of probation.

Upon arriving, deputies spotted Sadula in the backyard. Seeing the patrol vehicles, Sadula fled on foot into the woods. Following a brief pursuit, deputies apprehended him and placed him into custody. During a search incident to the arrest, officers recovered a piece of burnt tin foil containing suspected paraphernalia.

After completing the welfare check on Bond, deputies transported Sadula to the Cumberland County Jail. He faces new charges of misdemeanor evading arrest alongside his active probation violation warrant, with a $2,500 bond set for the evading charge and a court date scheduled for October 19, 2026.
