JUDGE: JOE CLYDE DANIELS’ PARENTS WILL BE TRIED SEPARATELY FOR CHILD’S DISAPPEARANCE
Circuit Court Judge David D. Wolfe announced this morning the trials for Joseph and Krystal Daniels will be done separately in connection to the disappearance of their 5-year-old son, Joe Clyde. Joseph Daniels’ trial will begin June 1, 2021 and Krystal Daniels will get underway at a later date.
Joe Clyde Daniels was reported missing back from the Dickson County, Tennessee home on April 4, 2018.
A few days later, TBI agents said Joseph Daniels confessed to hitting the boy repeatedly with his fist until he died and then put the boy’s body in the trunk of their car. Joseph allegedly said he disposed of the boy’s body in a wooded area.
The body of the child has not been recovered.
Krystal Daniels told officers at the time she heard screaming, walked into the living area and saw her son’s body. She stated Joseph Daniels allegedly threatened her. She then headed back to her room and went to sleep.
Joseph Daniels was indicted on counts of first-degree murder, child abuse and aggravated child abuse, child neglect, filing a false report and tampering or fabricating evidence. Krystal Daniels was indicted on counts of aggravated child abuse and aggravated child abuse, child neglect, filing a false report and tampering or fabricating evidence.
