A Crossville City Council Member who was supposed to appear in General Sessions Court Thursday morning to answer an assault charge, has had a continuance. Jesse Kerley was scheduled to appear with his attorney Kevin Bryant but according to the Cumberland County Circuit Court Office, Kerley has been issued a continuance per agreement. His next scheduled court date is set for October 6^th.  Council Person Pete Souza brought the charges against Kerley after an incident which occurred at City Hall on June 2^nd.
