KINGSTON CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSES AMPHITHEATER, LIGHT-DUTY POLICY

The Kingston City Council approved a contract for construction of its new Southwest Point amphitheater during last night’s meeting. The city received a $500,000 grant last year to construct the amphitheater at no cost to the city. The construction company, Skilled Services LLC, came in with a low bid of $498,330, with alternates and deductions implemented to keep the total cost under budget. According to Mayor Tim Neal, work should begin in the next couple of weeks, if all goes as planned.

The council also approved a light-duty policy for injured employees until a doctor releases them to resume regular duties.

Also at the meeting newly hired Parks and Recreation Director Chase Clem introduced himself to the council and the public.
