KINGSTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
On Tuesday, the Kingston City Council passed the next fiscal year’s budget on first reading. City Manager David Bolling announced the city property tax rate will be slightly over 82 cents per $100 of assessed value.
Bolling also reported progress on the Historic Fort at Fort Southwest Point becoming a state park. The new park manager, who met with Bolling last week, is setting up her office at the fort. Last year, the council decided to transfer the grounds to the state, and all paperwork is nearing completion. The park manager is expected to attend next month’s Kingston Council work session to introduce herself to city staff.
