A sergeant with the Kingston Police Department was injured after a hit and run yesterday (Sunday, August 6, 2017). Authorities say Sergeant Jerry Singleton was conducting a traffic stop on a truck pulling a car hauler when the driver drove off from the scene, causing the car hauler to run over Singleton. Officers say Singleton is awaiting surgery at UT Medical Center. Investigators said the suspect was later apprehended. More information regarding the incident is expected to be released later today.
