KINGSTON POLICE OFFICER SHOOTS DOG AFTER BEING BITTEN
On 10/20/25, at 2102 hours, an officer with the Kingston Police Department responded to a residence on Bailey Road in reference to a 911 open line.
The responding officer arrived and made contact with a large dog outside the residence. The dog was friendly, and the officer even petted the dog. Upon the homeowner answering the door, the dog turned and bit the officer in the upper part of the officer’s left inner thigh. The officer tried to retreat backwards as the dog continued attacking him by biting the officer on both arms.
The officer drew his duty pistol and shot the dog twice to stop the attack. The dog ran into the residence where it passed away.
The officer was taken to Roane Medical Center for treatment of his wounds from the attack. The officer was treated and released with minor injuries. The original 911 call was an accidental dial.
