KNIFE INCIDENT LANDS JACOBS IN JAIL FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Cumberland County deputies responded yesterday to a residence on the 500 block of Old Highway 70 for a report of a man armed with a knife engaged in a verbal altercation with others.

Officers arrived and encountered 61-year-old Todd Rowens Jacobs or Crossville.

A deputy asked Jacobs to step off the porch so he could speak to him about the incident.

Jacobs reportedly told the officer he was not going anywhere and the deputy would have to kill him.

The deputy asked the suspect if he had a knife.

Jacobs stated he did.

Jacobs turned around and attempted to go back into the home. The officer ordered him to stop, which Jacobs reportedly did not comply.

The suspect was taken to the ground by the officer and taken into custody.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers found the knife in the living room.

Jacobs was arrested for aggravated assault. He was taken to the Cumberland County jail and placed under an initial bond of $10,000.
