KNOXVILLE MAN INDICTED ON CHILD RAPE CHARGES

COOKEVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a Knoxville man in connection with a child rape case.

In February, at the request of 9th District Attorney General Russell Johnson, TBI Special Agents began investigating Jacob Alexander Tate on allegations of sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 13. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that the incident occurred in Knox County.

On Tuesday, the Knox County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Tate with Rape of a Child, Aggravated Sexual Battery, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Contributing to the Unruliness of a Child. Today, TBI Special Agents, with the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested Tate, 20, at his residence on Denning Lane in Knoxville. He was booked into the Knox County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
