KNOXVILLE PROBATION CHECK TURNS INTO DRUG BUST
Last night at around 6:45 p.m., Community Engagement Response Team officers and Tennessee Department of Corrections officers conducted a probation check at an apartment on Pascal Drive for a man with multiple prior felony convictions, including for attempted robbery.
A subsequent search of the apartment resulted in the discovery of a loaded handgun and a locked safe, which was found to contain nearly 60 grams of fentanyl, a large amount of marijuana, over a gram of cocaine, and nearly $4,000 in cash.
The subject of the probation check, identified as 29-year-old Torrance Jones, and 26-year-old Cassidy Peavler, who was also found inside the apartment, were both taken into custody. Jones was charged with multiple weapon and drug charges, while Peavler was charged with multiple drug offenses.
We appreciate the daily efforts of our officers to keep the community safe.
