LAKE TANSI VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES ANNUAL HYDRATION DRIVE
As the summer heat intensifies, the Lake Tansi Volunteer Fire Department is calling on the local community for support to help keep its first responders safe on the job.
The department officially launched its annual hydration donation drive today, asking residents and local businesses for donations of bottled water and electrolyte drinks.
According to fire officials, these donations play a critical role in maintaining firefighter health during emergency operations. The beverages are used at the station and on-scene during “rehab”—the vital recovery period where firefighters cool down, rehydrate, and check their vitals after battling blazes or responding to grueling calls.
“Your donations go a long way in keeping the firefighters hydrated and help during rehab after calls,” the department shared in a statement to the community. “Thank you very much for your support and stay safe!”
Community members looking to support their local firefighters can drop off beverage donations at the station. The department has designated two convenient drop-off locations:
-
The front yellow door of the main station.
-
The side door located near the FOP building.
Officials emphasize that every donation, no matter the size, directly impacts the well-being and readiness of the volunteer crew as they work to keep Lake Tansi safe this season.
