LATE-NIGHT TRAFFIC STOP YIELDS 2 ARRESTS FOR ROCKWOOD POLICE
Two people were arrested in a late-night traffic stop in Rockwood early Monday morning. Officers responded to a single vehicle wreck on East Wheeler Road around 3 AM. The 2009 Toyota Sedan was found resting on its side after overturning. The driver, 30-year-old Jonathan David Cofer of Rockwood, was found hiding under a staircase of an area building after he fled the scene on foot. After being told to stand up, Cofer again fled. He was located later in a nearby small barn by assisting officers. Both Cofer, and his passenger, 30-year-old Jared Paul Fisher, were charged with possession of meth. Cofer was additionally charged with driving without a license and no insurance.
