MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSING FIREARM WHILE DUI
A Cumberland County man found out the hard way that it’s not good to drink and drive. Recently, Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the area of 745 Peavine Rd. for the report of an accident. A 2007 Ford F-150 driven by 21-year-old Dimitrios Canelles, had run off the roadway, down an embankment and crashed between a telephone pole and guide wire. Canelles said that he swerved to miss a deer, but officers smelled the odor of alcohol on him. He also had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He was also found to be in possession of a handgun, a .45 Glock 30. After a search warrant was granted for a blood draw at the hospital, Canelles was charged with DUI and possessing a firearm while intoxicated.
