LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES FROM ACROSS THE STATE PAY TRIBUTE TO K-9 CAIN

They came from all over: Metro Nashville, Oak Ridge, Sevier County, Putnam County, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and numerous other agencies from across the state of Tennessee. Both human and K-9 police officers came to Crossville to pay their respects to fallen K-9 Officer Cain and his handler/partner Lt. Bart Riden. A memorial procession proceeded through downtown Crossville to Duer Soccer Complex. City Mayor James Mayberry opened the solemn ceremony at the complex which was followed by a parade of K-9 Officers and their handlers from all areas of the state. The assemblage was then addressed by Criminal Court Judge Gary McKenzie, and then Patrol Captain Chris Kendrick gave the closing remarks. Cain was then given the traditional 21-gun salute, and the American flag was presented to Lt. Riden. The “Last Call” was given for Officer Cain and the ceremony was closed out with “Amazing Grace” played on the bagpipes.
