LAYNE CHARGED WITH CHILD SEX CRIMES IN ROANE COUNTY

Law enforcement served sex crime warrants on a man in Roane County. Deputies took 53-year-old Darryl Glenn Layne of Dunlap into custody Saturday afternoon for solicitation sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means, solicitation of aggravated statutory rape, and solicitation of an especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to court documents obtained by 1057 News, Layne stands accused of using Facebook to communicate with who he thought was a 16-year-old female. Layne reportedly arranged to meet the minor at the Pilot on Lawnville Road in Roane County to pick her up. Layne allegedly sent a picture of his private part prior to the arranged meeting. What Layne did not know was the minor was in fact an undercover law enforcement officer. When Layne arrived at the store, he was met by Roane County authorities and agents with the 9th judicial district Internet Crimes Against Children.

Layne was transported to the Roane County jail and initially placed under $50,000 bond.
