A homicide suspect is scheduled to appear in Blount County court today (August 30, 2018) charged with suffocating his infant child back in 2011. Tony Lee Light, age 27, is being held on $1 million bond. Deputies were called to his home in reference to a 5-and-a-half-month-old infant who was non-responsive. The child was later pronounced deceased at Blount Memorial Hospital. Since 2011, Light was incarcerated on another charges and supposedly sent letters to authorities admitting to causing the infant’s death.
