LIGHTNING PROBABLE CAUSE OF OLD LANTANA SCHOOL FIRE

Cumberland County firefighters responded to a structure blaze at the 6800th block of Lantana Road at the old Lantana School late yesterday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and county deputies also responded to the scene for traffic control. Cumberland County Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Kenny Kilgore told 105.7 News last night that the cause of the blaze was probably lightning. There was a strong storm with several lightning strikes in the area right before fire crews were called to the scene around 4 p.m. central. No one was inside the structure at the time of the incident. Firefighters cleared the location around 8 last night.
