TRACTOR-TRAILER FIRE CLOSES I-40 IN LOUDON COUNTY FOR HOURS
Interstate 40 westbound was closed for hours yesterday in Loudon County because of a tractor-trailer fire. The driver was able to get out safely. Officers say he was hauling cocoa powder. The incident took place at mile marker 367. Westbound traffic was diverted onto I-75 southbound to Exit 81 in Lenoir City. Then motorists took U.S. 321 northbound that brought them back to I-40 on the other side of the fire. TDOT was able to clear the scene and re-open I-40 around 10 p.m. last night.
