Crossville Fire Department responded to Charleston Plantation Apartments off of North Main Street just before noon today after a report of smoke coming from one of the eaves. Fire officials say the probable cause was a lightning strike earlier in the morning that caught one of the roof joists on fire and moved slowly. Crews contained the small blaze to one apartment. No injuries were reported.
