LINE OF POWERFUL STORMS LEAVES DAMAGE OVERNIGHT
A line of powerful storms left damage all across middle Tennessee late last night and early this morning.
A tornado watch was issued by the National Weather Service for the Upper Cumberland counties including Cumberland that went through much of the early morning hours.
Putnam County was placed under a tornado warning around 1:30 a.m. and shortly after Bledsoe County was under a tornado warning but no tornado touchdown was reported.
Even before the storms entered Crossville, power crews responded to two different outages that affected nearly 500 customers. Another outage was reported in the Crab Orchard area.
Heavy rainfall left several roads flooded in Cumberland County around 3 this morning.
Wind damage was reported just before 4 a.m. in Bledsoe, Loudon, Blount, McMinn and Meigs County.
One person was reported killed and two were injured in the storm as it passed through Rutherford County just after midnight.
