LOCAL BUSINESS CLAIMS MAN ALLEGEDLY STOLE OVER $1,000 IN CASH AND QUIT

On February 9, a Crossville city officer went to Mountain Farm International for a theft report. When speaking to the accountant of the business, she stated that they hired 42-year-old Travis L. Bryant as a service writer.

The accountant stated that she saw where customers had not paid for the service that Mountain Farm had provided on their equipment and sent all the bills to collections. The customers then called in and told the accountant that they gave cash to Travis Bryant.

After investigating, she found out that there had been multiple occasions when he had taken cash from multiple customers. She stated that he had made tickets but they were never closed out. The total amount taken was $1,016.44. The amount was not put into any account at the business.

According to Mr. Bryant, when officers spoke with him he stated he had been sick and that is why he did not make a receipt and left a sticky note on it to give the customers a receipt. The accountant stated that there was not a sticky note and a customer called and claimed they gave Mr. Bryant $711.87 in cash and he did not show up to work.

The accountant said Mr. Bryant came into the business and returned his phone and left without speaking with anyone.

A warrant for Felony Theft has been written for Travis Bryant.
