LONG-TIME CUMBERLAND COUNTY SCHOOL BUS DRIVER SUFFERS STROKE ON ROUTE

She has been a beloved school bus driver for hundreds of Cumberland county students for many many years. She loved her horses and was the most energetic ‘farm girl’ this county has ever known. Growing up and living in the Homesteads suited Sylvia Lewis just fine. But now tragedy has struck. Sylvia suffered what doctor’s refer to as a ‘brain bleed’ while driving her bus Tuesday morning. She surely must have known something bad was happening for she immediately pulled the bus to the side of the road and stopped before she lost consciousness, preventing any harm to the children on the bus. Sylvia was rushed to Knoxville where doctors worked with her trying to assess the damage to her brain. In the end, there was nothing they could do. The bleed was too deep within her brain and had already caused too much damage. She was brought back to her home where family and friends are caring and praying for her as she lay in a coma. Anyone who knows Sylvia loves and admires her and counts it a blessing to have her as a friend. Please include Sylvia and her family in your prayers.
