MALE SUSPECTS CAUGHT TRYING TO STEAL 2 LAWNMOWERS ON CONSECUTIVE DAYS

Harriman Police say they captured two men who stole a new lawn mower from a Lowe’s and then returned the next day to steal another lawnmower from the same store. According to reports, the suspects, who have not been named, stole the first John Deere lawnmower on Jan.25 at the Harriman Lowe’s. Video surveillance shows the men leaving in a green Ford Ranger pulling a trailer. On Jan. 26, police were called to the same store where the same two men were attempting to steal another John Deere lawnmower in the same vehicle. When officers arrived, they discovered that the suspects had been pulled over at a Weigel’s parking lot. Positive identifications were made of the men as they were wearing the same clothes as in the video footage stealing the lawnmower. A search of the truck turned up a pair of bolt cutters and other burglary tools as well as drug paraphernalia. The suspects are charged with, among other things, theft, vandalism, and possession of burglary tools.
