MAN AND WOMAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY IN TENNESSEE AVENUE BREAK-IN
A convicted felon was apprehended by Crossville Police for his part in a burglary earlier this week. Officers were called to a business on Tennessee Ave. Monday where a wireless keypad on a burglar alarm had been taken. An employee told police that he observed a female, later identified as 33-year-old Leah Davenport, walking around the Cumberland County Playhouse. During the course of the investigation, detectives connected with 43-year-old Robert Grumbein, who was driving in the same area. A pair of batteries matching those from the stolen keypad were found in Grumbein’s pocket, and a consent search of the suspect’s Dodge Durango turned up a backpack containing seven boxes of 9mm ammo and numerous glue sticks. A criminal background check revealed Grumbein to be a convicted felon. Davenport was found on Holiday Dr. and returned to the scene where shoe prints inside the business matched both suspects. Both charged with burglary. Grumbein faces additional charges.
