MAN ARRESTED AFTER BURGLARY FROM AUTO
On June 14, 2025, police responded to a burglary report at a home on Ridgewood Dr. involving a silver Chevy Malibu. The vehicle’s owner reported a maroon wallet and a baby blue keychain wallet containing IDs, keys, and bank cards stolen. A suspect, Matthew Lynn Stephens, encountered earlier on June 12 walking in the area, admitted to taking the items and linking a stolen bank card to his Cashapp account after attempting a $668 Walmart purchase.
Following his confession, police arrested him on Grove Loop, recovered most stolen items, including the wallets and bank card, and returned them. A 1988 model edition twenty-dollar bill remains unrecovered.
The suspect was booked, and the case was approved by an officer on June 14.
