MAN ARRESTED AFTER DEADLY CRASH ON I-40

A Grainger County woman and her son passed away in a vehicle crash on I-40 in Knox County yesterday morning (Wednesday, November 29, 2017). Officers say a Volkswagen Cabrio driven by 31-year-old Sabrina Mae Brown of Bean Station was traveling near the I-140 and Lovell Road exits when she lost control after being clipped by a tractor-trailer. Brown’s vehicle came to rest and was then hit by a Ford F-150 driven by 29-year-old Richard Lee Romano. Brown and her 3-year-old son, Adrian Amelia Johnson, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Brown’s 1-year-old daughter, Alexis Amelia Johnson, was transported to UT Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition as of last report. Romano was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of marijuana. The driver of the semi was not injured and was released.
