MAN ARRESTED AFTER STEALING BIKE AND MACHETE FROM CROSSVILLE WALMART
On Monday, Crossville city officers responded to Walmart for a theft. According to an employee, a male carrying a black backpack got onto a bike and rode it out of the store using the fire exit. He was riding the bike towards Highway 127 North and heading to Northside Drive. The thief dropped his phone on the way out, which was recovered by the woman and given to police.
The officer reviewed video footage of the incident where he also observed the male grabbing a backpack from the camping section which he used to store several more items he stole from the store including a watch and a machete.
Later that night, another city officer saw a male matching the description from the earlier theft riding a bike on the Interstate eastbound around mile marker 315. The male was identified as 49-year-old James Beach, of Nashville. Mr. Beach was in possession of all the items that were listed stolen from Walmart earlier that day.
He was arrested and charged with Theft of Property.
