MAN ARRESTED AFTER STEALING ITEMS FROM A MORGAN COUNTY JUDGE

On July 29, 2025, Deputy Caleb Charles of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of stolen property at a home on Pomona Road near Crossville following information from a Morgan County Detective that Christopher Lee Duff, a 36-year-old white male resident, possessed items belonging to a Morgan County judge.
The incident occurred between 5:52 PM and 7:00 PM at Pomona Road, classified as a theft from a building with no forced entry or bias motivation. Upon arrival, Duff admitted to possessing a post hole digger (valued at $100) and a pitchfork (valued at $50), both identified as stolen by the complainant.
Duff was arrested at 7:00 PM, charged with theft of property up to $1,000, and transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for booking. The stolen tools were logged as recovered evidence and stored in the men’s locker room at the Sheriff’s Office for retrieval by Morgan County Deputies.
