MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT
Yesterday, at around 8:45 p.m., Patrol Officer Tristan Wright responded to a call from a woman who said she had been assaulted at the Executive Inn in Crossville. The woman was able to get away from the offender and was waiting for officers at Walmart.
Upon arriving, Officer Wright saw her openly crying in her car. The woman told the officer that her husband, Ronald Ripley, had shown up to her hotel room at the Executive Inn where she was unable to leave to get away from him until 10:30 at night.
She claimed her husband had pinned her down on the floor, strangled her, and hit her head on the floor, as well as strangled her on the bed. She said she was only able to get away after telling him that if he didn’t let her leave there would be more evidence of a domestic assault.
She told officers that at one point she could not breathe and wasn’t able to leave because of her husband physically holding her down by the throat. She also told officers that she has an active order of protection against her husband.
Officer Wright said in his report that he noticed red marks around her neck.
At this point, Officer Wright as well as other officers went to the Executive Inn and located Ripley and arrested him for aggravated assault, violation of order of protection, and false imprisonment. He was transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office to be booked on these offenses.
