Yesterday, and around 6:23 p.m., Officer Amy Sherill was dispatched to On-The-Way market on Lantana Road regarding Tennessee Department of Corrections Probation/Parole officers needing assistance with arresting a man inside the city.

Upon arriving, Officer Sherill spoke with Parole Officer Samantha Valerio who said she had issued two felony arrest warrants on Philip Lee Matherly for violation of the sex offender registry and a community supervision violation.

She said that, per his GPS ankle monitor, he was located in the parking lot of an empty business on Old Lantana Road. Officer Sherill followed TDOC officers to the location where they located Matherly sitting in the driver’s seat of a van.

He was placed into custody without further issues and transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and served his two warrants.
