MAN ARRESTED IN CROSSVILLE HOME INVASION

A Crossville man is facing several charges following a home invasion late last night (Thursday, November 2, 2017). According to the arrest report, police responded to an apartment in the 500th block of Myrtle Avenue where officers noted several windows broken upon their arrival. Officers say two subjects inside in a fight and entered the dwelling. Police say 26-year-old Matthew James Goforth allegedly made entry into the apartment in a window that he allegedly broke and attacked a male subject inside. The victim was treated by EMS for injuries sustained. Goforth was arrested for aggravated burglary, aggravated assault for allegedly strangling the victim, domestic assault for striking a woman at the scene, and two counts of vandalism.
