MAN ARRESTED IN ROANE COUNTY AFTER DEPUTY STUCK WITH SYRINGE NEEDLE
Yesterday, a Roane County deputy pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 61 and Pickard Lane for a vehicle violation. According to the arrest report, the officer asked 23-year-old Timothy Dale Church if he has anything illegal on him after the officer learned Church had outstanding warrants for burglary and theft of property. Church reportedly said no, but a pat down resulted in the deputy being stuck by the needle tip of a syringe. Church was charged with assault involving a law-enforcement officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. The deputy went to Roane Medical Center for a blood test.
