According to the Cumberland County General Sessions Court criminal docket for June 11th, defendant Owen Ernest Skinner is facing charges related to a driving incident.

The incident occurred on February 13, 2026, and was detailed in an affidavit by Deputy Holden Atkinson. Deputy Atkinson observed Skinner traveling at 85 mph and passing through traffic. When the deputy initiated lights and sirens, Skinner fled outbound on Lantana Road, sparking a pursuit that exceeded speeds of 100 mph. Skinner eventually stopped at the entrance of South Elementary, where he was detained and admitted to “just being stupid” and running from the officer. This incident resulted in three additional charges filed on February 18, 2026: Evading Arrest Flight (Vehicle), Felony Reckless Endangerment (Vehicle), and Reckless Driving.
