MAN FROM HARRIMAN ARRESTED FOR CHILD ABUSE

The Harriman Police Department arrested a man yesterday for child abuse and neglect. The warrant obtained by 105.7 News states 57-year-old Clarence James Cook, Sr. stands accused of exposing his private parts while walking around naked in a Swan Pond Road home to a girl under the age of 11 related to him. Officers also indicated Cook Sr. let the child watch pornography with him. Further, Cook Sr. allowed the child to be sexually abused by another adult family member and failed to protect her. He was transported to the Roane County jail and initially placed under $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in general sessions court June 30, 2020.
