Saturday evening, while on patrol along Taylor’s Chapel Road, Cumberland County deputies noticed a passenger in a car parked in a driveway along the 2400 block. Knowing the man had outstanding warrants, the deputy turned around and headed back toward the vehicle, which began backing out of the driveway in a reckless manner. The suspect got out of the vehicle, leapt over a fence and fled in to a field.

After a brief foot chase, during which the suspect ignored multiple commands to stop, the suspect ran into a wooded area and eluded capture.

The following day, deputies obtained an arrest warrant the suspect for evading arrest.
