MAN STEALS CHAINSAW AND THEN BRIBES KFC EMPLOYEE FOR FREE FOOD

On Friday, around 3:45 PM Crossville officers responded to KFC in reference to a male who was standing at the registers, staring at employees, and holding a chainsaw.

When officers arrived, they saw the male subject run out the back door. After looking, officers found Jacob Webb, age 37,  laying down next to a red pickup in the parking lot, attempting to hide. He was detained while the officer questioned the KFC employees about what happened.

According to the employees, Mr. Webb came in asking for free food while carrying a chainsaw in a box. The employee working the register stated that he asked her to give him food in exchange for sexual favors.

The chainsaw was recovered by the door and returned to Rural King where it had been stolen. Video footage showed Mr. Webb taking possession of the chainsaw and carrying it around the store just twenty minutes prior to the KFC incident.

A check with dispatch confirmed that Jacob Webb had actually been banned from Rural King since 12/23/2019.

He was charged with soliciting, evading arrest, theft of merchandise, and criminal trespassing.
