Crossville police responded yesterday to Dollar General on Highway 127 North for a theft. Surveillance footage showed a Caucasian male with a beard wearing a brown jacket, pants and a hat reach around the counter and taken money from a St. Jude Children’s Hospital container. The store employee came up to the register after the theft and the suspect paid for items with the money he took. However, he was not aware his actions were caught on video and used an EBT card to pay for some food items giving officers a way to track him. The incident is under investigation.
