Roane County deputies responded Wednesday to a residence on White Pine Road for a welfare check. According to the arrest report, officers encountered 54-year-old Daniel Timothy Poole, who was instructed to turn around so he could be searched, based on alleged threats Poole made toward law enforcement. Poole reportedly resisted and came at the officers in an aggressive manner, resulting in his being tased. Poole was tased a second time after not complying with officers’ instructions. He was arrested for assault of a law-enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
