MAN TO APPEAR IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY COURT ON THURSDAY FOR BURGLARY CHARGES

The Cumberland County General Sessions Court criminal docket for June 18, 2026, details multiple charges against John Eric Dishman, who is being represented by a public defender. His earlier offenses from late 2025 and early 2026 include simple possession/casual exchange, public intoxication, speeding, and driving with a suspended license, cited by Officers Shade Foster and Shawn Aytes.

More recently, Dishman faces severe charges of burglary and aggravated burglary stemming from a March 20, 2026, incident investigated by Officer Morgan Alvarez of the Crossville Police Department.

According to police reports, officers responded to a late-night burglary alarm at the Sunoco station on Highway 70 East, where they discovered a broken side door, shoeprints, and shattered alcohol bottles. Surveillance footage captured a distinctively damaged white Ford Explorer and a suspect wearing unique clothing stealing Bootlegger liquor, Twisted Teas, and THC vapes.

The next day, officers utilized Flock cameras to track the vehicle, which led to a traffic stop of Dishman, who was still wearing the same hat seen in the video. After being read his Miranda rights, Dishman confessed that he committed the burglary due to peer pressure to “fit in” and took the stolen items to a bonfire.

A consensual search of his vehicle revealed empty bottles matching the stolen merchandise, leading to his arrest and transport to the Cumberland County Justice Center on charges of burglary and theft of merchandise under $1,000.
